This week in houses I can’t afford…

This charming number.  Which has already sold.  Structurally sound, unless you remove those wood stilts holding it up.  Look at that.  It’s actually on crutches.  But for 1.8 million it’s yours! I’d show you more photos of the house but no one is allowed in.  It’s currently held together with spit and good luck.  Step inside and it will fold around you like a cheap foldy thing.  It’s also on the corner of a pretty busy street.  Other than that, bargain.

It's like a fixer upper. That can't be fixed.

Somehow I got on the Zillow Baltimore Maryland real estate alerts email list and daily I get a list of houses for sale in Baltimore that I can afford.  It’s a cruel tease.  I made the mistake of showing my daughter this house, below, for 1.8. I mean, is that the White House?  I don’t know anything about Baltimore, except for what I learned watching The Wire.  But take a look at these two houses.  Which one looks like the crack house?  Oh it’s a trick question! The folks in Palo Alto have no more money left for crack, silly goose!
