Mentally, I’ve always thought of Stanford as an Ivy League school. I know that’s not technically correct and the purists would balk at this association. Still, while the Ivy Leagues have enjoyed (and deserved) their rankings, Stanford has been buoyed in recent years by its proximity to Silicon Valley. Depending on who you talk to, Silicon Valley starts in San Jose and goes up to San Francisco. Stanford is smack dab between the two.

So what’s the top choice for students and parents according to a survey by Princeton Review? Not surprisingly, it’s Stanford.
